Our Approach

IBS Institutional Capital, an IBS Investment Bank sister company based in Wellington, FL, provides the capital and expertise necessary to facilitate owners’ and shareholders’ goals for corporate growth through recapitalizations of owner-operated businesses, corporate divestitures, restructurings, or special situations.

In addition to the substantial capital contributions made by IBS’s principals to closely held funds, IBS undertakes investments on behalf of both institutional and ultra-high-net-worth investors, with limited partner relationships established as early as 2004.

We work with family offices, founders, management teams, and boards of directors to drive growth and build enterprise value. Led by our entrepreneurial spirit, we specialize in situations requiring creative capital to achieve opportunistic outcomes.

Investment Criteria

  • Size: Lower middle market companies up to $50MM in annual revenue may consider EBITDA flat or unprofitable businesses for add-on transactions.
  • Geography: Tier 1- South Florida, Tier 2 Southwest, Central Florida, or Texas (Major MSA), Tier 3 - Midwest.
  • Control: Preferred
  • Management: Continuity preferred
  • Investment Themes: Specialty Manufacturing, Infrastructure, Professional Services, Aviation, Aerospace, and Defense.
  • Transaction Types: Management and shareholder buyouts, recapitalizations, growth capital, corporate divestitures, and add-on acquisitions.

Our Strategy

IBS Institutional Capital’s investment strategy is founded on five pillars:

  • Domain Experience
  • Market Focus
  • Proprietary Transaction Sourcing
  • Opportunistic Capital
  • Strategic Process

As a framework for our decision-making, these pillars have contributed to IBS’s systematic, repeatable, and disciplined investment successes.

“IBS invests in lower-middle market businesses that serve as the heartbeat of the American economy – and compelling investments for institutional investors. Post-close, we commit to providing add-on capital, operational best practices, and strategic relationships for value creation. Our expertise in assessing, structuring, and investing in lower-middle-private market transactions secures our position as a material partners to independent sponsors,  family offices, and other institutional investors pursuing the segment,” Jason Jackson, IBS Chairman and Chief Investment Officer.
